  THRIVE Director Notes Posts on this Blog will be directed to help families see what is going on in our THRIVE Program.  Items discussed on the Blog have already occurred.  To keep updated on what’s coming up please refer to your students or UCM activity calendar It’s been another extremely cold week.  We didn’t have classes on Monday and most of Wednesday but some students did have Zoom or Google Hangout classes/meetings.   First-Year Students: Workplace & Community Skills - (Mrs. Southard and Dr. Manning):  Monday campus was closed. Dr. Manning started meeting with each student individually about their reflection paper.  We would like to see each student work on their writing skills. Students were encouraged to explain, expand and elaborate on their next reflection paper. We would like to see each student's writing skills increase.   THRIVE Director Notes Posts on this Blog will be directed to help families see what is going on in our THRIVE Program.  Items discussed on the Blog have already occurred.  To keep updated on what’s coming up please refer to your students or UCM activity calendar It’s been a cold and busy week.  We’ve discussed cold-weather gear with our students.  As we have had some come in with slippers and short-sleeve shirts.  If you talk to your student you might make sure they realize it’s going to be cold over the next week or so.  Mrs. Southard is talking to the first-year students now about dressing in layers to keep warm.  We hope that all of our families are doing well and enjoying some time at home.  Enjoy this week’s blog.   THRIVE Director Notes Posts on this Blog will be directed to help families see what is going on in our THRIVE Program.  Items discussed on the Blog have already occurred.  To keep updated on what’s coming up please refer to your students or UCM activity calendar It’s been a busy week.  We had our first family interviews for our applicants for next fall.  It’s an exciting time for the THRIVE staff and the future families of THRIVE students.   First-Year Students: Workplace & Community Skills - (Mrs. Southard and Dr. Manning):  The students did their first job shadow this week.  We had students job shadowing at UCM Child Care Center, UCM Student Activities Office, UCM Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC), and at RISE Crafts Store.  Their job shadow consists of 2 days and each day is around 2-3 hours at the particular location.  After the job shadows, the students are supposed to write a reflection of the job shadow an...

Dr. Manning explained Thank you letters. Students will be asked to write for each job shadowing experience they complete.
