First-Year Students: First-year students have been discussing the classes they’d like to take next semester.  The team looked over them yesterday and enrollment will begin soon.  If you have any questions we’d suggest you get with your students on what ideas they had. University Foundations: Debra Southard    We worked on a to-do list and discussed assignments that were due this week.  Students are getting better at using the activity app and discussion board. Tuesday Mrs. Southard demonstrated how to scrub and clean cloth masks. Students were assigned a one-page paper to write about a career or job that they are interested in. THRIVE had its Fall Open House on Monday.  We had 14 families and a district come to either our morning or afternoon event.  The first-year students and also the second-year students (that didn’t have their internship or a class) were in attendance.  THRIVE Staff will be gearing up for next Fall’s interviews that will take place next semester. First-Year Students: University Foundations: Debra Southard    Students turned in their Step by Step book and got the Skills for Success textbook.  The first textbook focused on college expectations which this book is more about students self-reflection. First-Year Students: University Foundations: Debra Southard    This week we finished Chapter4. The test was Friday. We discussed a to-do list. Also covered was a five-day study plan. The importance of studying every day for five days to prepare for a test. Tuesday a couple of past graduates attended a google meet with all of us. Morgan and Richard discussed the importance of getting classwork completed. Also, topics of discussion were how to stay out of study hall plus, the need for a todo list and a planner.  Students were asked to email Dr. Manning a list of classes they are interested in for next year. Notes from Mr. B: This week is Week 8 on our school calendar. This is important for the parents to know.  This is midterm week.  This means that our first-year students will have finals in their 8-week classes of Bowling and Valuing Differences.  We’ve alerted our mentors and volunteers that assist our first-year students to give them a hand.  This may mean that we have some students that are more nervous than normal.  This is also midterm for our other students which may mean a Midterm Test and/or paper for some of their classes, it all depends on what their elective teacher does.  Then the other point that First-Year parents will need to know is that this means the...
