First-Year Students: University Foundations: We discussed careers and how our values can affect what career we are interested in. We talked about career paths for instance if a person was interested in some time of career to help others what type of j obs are out there for that. Students created their own Dropbox account and learned how to drop infor- mation into that so it can be retrieved at a later date. We also completed some personal assessments to check to see if what we value is in line with our career choices. First-Year Students: University Foundations: Monday everyone participated in the Open house. This week we traded books from “Your College  experience” to “Skills for Success”. We have primarily focused this week on picking some possible  classes for next semester. Students have learned how to look up classes for the next semester on  the university website. We have discussed several possibilities for each student. Students made appoin- tments with Dr. Manning to narrow down their choices. To keep updated on what’s coming up please refer to  the THRIVE activity calendar or UCM activity calendar. First-Year Students: University Foundations: This week we prepared for midterm tests. The students worked in their study groups. We reviewed some key  terms. We also discussed the many ways students could study for a midterm including making their own  questions, creating graphic organizers we call mapping and reading over the power points. We did not have  University Foundations Class on Wednesday due to a meeting a MIPSA Meeting in Columbia. Wednesday  students had several options in lieu of class time. They could take their relationships test over in OAS, continue  studying for the UF midterm, work on the discussion board and research classes studen...
