First-Year Students: University Foundations: Students turned in their big paper they had been working on. Students also worked this week on a one page paper  about reflecting on where they want to be in 10 to 20 years. Some students are going to the writing lab over in the  library. I have requested that they all go over there.  The last Chapter for this semester is about people skills. This is  information that will transition into the next semester. Students shared some experiences they have had dealing  with customers. We began to talk about interview skills as well. We discussed how to study for finals. First-Year Students: University Foundations: Students started working on a big writing assignment. They are creating a paper about their life. In the  last few weeks, students brainstormed some ideas to include in their paper. They made a list of people  and events that had an impact on their lives and put this in chronological order. Personal characteristics  that they are proud of. We also discussed something that inspires them to be included as well. Of  course, students have the right to privacy they have a right to not include any information they choose.  Students are understanding writing is a process. First-Year Students: University Foundations: This week we have begun a large end of semester paper. Students will end up with several  pages of their own life story.  It encourages students to investigate how their personal history,  attitudes and beliefs and about their ability might be influencing the way they think about  themselves and their goals for themselves. We worked on metaphors. I asked students to do  some research or write their own metaphor about their life.
